At the cross roads?? Not yet :-)

I must open the blog apologising to the readers who are used to looking forward to a recipe at the end of my story I have to tell. Its not a food blog this time, just something I have been thinking. I have been thinking a lot lately, being away from your own house, family and friends makes you ponder over your life. To tell you the truth I have been living a life a lot dream about. I have been travelling and living in the most beautiful parts of various countries. I have slogged my way through but also accompanied by a charming luck that has show me the world I so longed to see. But for some reason, every time I look back on my life all I can think of is Harry Nillson's song, "Remember", a really nice line from the song, "Remember Life is never as it seems" and how true it is. I have thoroughly enjoyed my life so far. I still have a long way to go and I have no idea what the end game is, but all I know is I still long to get back to my roots.
Have I told you, my husband is a big fan of the Himalayas, I have been with him a few times, I cannot match his passion when it comes to the mountains but certainly appreciate the beauty and its effect on me. Himalayas have a serenity you cannot find any where. I have been to a lot of places that have snow mountains, but Himalayas is something else. I can understand why so many have given up everything to be in the mountains. It is something about the mountains, I can't quite explain, you can only feel it. Feel its larger than life presence, they are over whelming but in a nice way.  I still remember, I had tears streaming down my face when the fog lifted and I saw the snow capped mountains for the first time. I wasn't sure why I was crying, I was happy and sad at the same time. I was smiling and crying at the same time. The mountains transport you to a world not one is accustomed to, but secretly longs for, a world that makes you feel free in a true sense, a world that has not strings attached, no pain, no sorrow, no worries, no stress to do something get somewhere. The peace I remember from my few visits is something I have never felt. My dream of a Cafe started when we started wandering streets and little hills of Himalayas. There are a few places, where I stood and thought this going to be the window to my world. A world which is full of laughter, cheer, optimism and a ray of sunlight.

Since then, I have had a long standing dream of running my own little Cafe, which is not just a Cafe, it is something that I want people to look forward to, my Cafe as I see it will have books lazily scattered all over the place, warm smell of bakes and freshly ground coffee :) The place brightly lit with a lot of natural sun light beaming through. A light breeze flowing through the wide open windows of the Cafe making the lacy curtains fly carelessly. Comfy chairs and couches made of the bright and chirpy fabric. Bright and artistic paintings hung on the walls in not an orderly fashion. A Cafe buzzing with the regulars of all kinds, kids, young people, men and women who have escaped their daily chores to have a nice cuppa and a chat with like minded.
I can imagine sweet music playing and with a background of chirping birds filling up the valley.  The veranda of the Cafe looks out on a an open valley with snow peaked mountains in the back. I can sometimes feel myself standing on the veranda taking in the crisp sun on my face looking out on expanses of trees and blue skies. As the sun starts setting quietly and dusk sets in, all the tables adorn twinkling candles, twigs make a crackling noise in a subtle fire place, a light smoke starts lifting from the chimneys to cut the chill in the air and all prepare to go home leaving us to enjoy the peace and quiet in the Cafe, with a promise to return.

Its a dream but I know its a reality waiting around the corner, waiting for me to find it and live it, the way I see it with my eyes wide open. Dream, dreaming is not a bad thing, I think that is just one thing that keeps one going, keeps me going for sure :) Am going to take your leave with a another lovely line from a song by Roy Orbinson,
"Dream when the day is through, Dream and they might come true"
